Learn, Laugh, Live
u3a Lenzie is a friendly local group for people who are no longer in full-time work and would like to learn new things, share interests, and enjoy the company of others - just for the pleasure of it.
You don’t need qualifications, experience, or prior knowledge. u3a is about curiosity, conversation and community.
u3a groups across the UK are supported by the Third Age Trust, and locally by the Scottish u3a committee.

Joining u3a Lenzie
If you are interested in joining, you are very welcome to get in touch via this website or to come along to one of our Monthly Meetings or Interest Groups to see if u3a is right for you.
Membership is open to anyone no longer in full-time employment.
Membership fees
• £20 per year for a single member
• £30 per year for a couple
(Paid annually)
Membership fees cover administration, speakers, and delivery of the national u3a magazine Third Age Matters.
Some outings or activities may have an additional cost, but wherever possible discounts or reduced rates are sought.
Monthly meeting
Our local u3a is organised by an elected committee, all of whom are members.
Monthly meetings take place at Lenzie Golf Club on the first Thursday of each month, except July and August.
Meetings usually include:
• A short business update
• Notices about forthcoming events
• A talk or workshop from a guest speaker
Any changes to arrangements are shared by email and announced at meetings.
Local interest groups
Interest groups are suggested and formed by members and are led by people who have an interest or experience in the topic.
Members may join as many or as few groups as they wish - attendance is always optional.
A list of current groups is provided on this site, with details of the focus, venue and meeting times for each group.
Most groups are free to attend. Occasionally there may be a cost where meetings take place in commercial venues (for example cinemas, sports centres or restaurants).
Some groups may be closed once they reach capacity, particularly where meetings take place in members’ homes. In many cases, additional groups can be formed if there is interest.
Interest Groups Online
If you are less mobile or unable to attend in person, your membership also gives you access to Interest Groups Online
This is an online-only u3a affiliated with the Third Age Trust.
This offers a wide range of online groups and activities and may be especially helpful for those who are isolated by circumstances or geography.
More information is available on the Interest Groups Online website.
