This group embodies all aspects of U3a's motto 'Live Laugh Learn’.

We enjoy a good blether while we do our crafts, we enjoy a laugh, share our lives and interests and learn through our projects and occasional workshops provided by group members. This year we have made knitted items for charities, including premature baby clothing, hats and scarves for Homeless charities, among others

New members are welcome to join us for a taster session to see if you are interested.

We focus on the members current craft interests. Mostly knitting, both on two needles and one, sewing, cross stitch or similar crafts very welcome.

We share patterns and ideas and help each other with any difficulties that arise in our work according to our experience.

The group agrees on joint charity projects , and works on these together at the group or at home.

In previous years we have made and gifted :

42 Fish and Chip Baby jumpers ( sent to Africa for vulnerable new-borns )

12 Twiddle Muffs ( for Dementia patients sent to Alzheimer's Scotland and using their pattern)

30 + pairs of Bereavement hearts ( for Local hospitals NICU and ICU- made in pairs with one left with the patient and one given to the family) own patterns, both knit and crochet

33 knitted Trauma teddies (donated to Women's aid Christmas appeal for distribution to homeless families and those in refuges)

We have also completed some items started by a former group member who passed away , given to us by her family. The wool donated is being used for charity projects.

A variety of items made by group members in their own time have also been donated to the appeal for Ukraine, including baby blankets baby clothes, hats and socks,
